It is said that if you happen upon a book you wish to read that is not written, you must write it. The same has been said of startups; the moment you lock eyes with a viable market gap or unbalmed user pain point, you are bound to it until either acquisition by Google or pyrotechnical crash-out results.
Real footage of an unsuspecting entrepreneur encountering a startup idea in the wild
Fealty to this principle is difficult when you already run your own startup that you’re desperately trying to manoeuvre into a position of global dominance (here/here, and raising, if you’re interested). Still, once trained, the instinct to notice unmet needs continues to fire, and an entrepreneur worth their salt will have more workable business ideas than they can ever execute upon in a lifetime.
It’s with that in mind that I am starting Heir to the Thought’s first List Post, and I am filling it with ideas for startups that I think would, if built properly, be of considerable benefit to mankind.
Some of these accord to the traditional definition of startups - businesses with very high potential growth margins, and scope for rapid user acquisition and expansion. Some would likely work on more traditional timelines. Some are highly technical, while some could be executed upon by people with rudimentary or no engineering experience.
As with all future List Posts, I will update this as and when new concepts occur to me. I will also feature, with credit, any and all good ideas left in the comments. If you wish that your idea be credited with your real, full name and/or contact information, please leave details of both.
And if any of you are indeed given that blessèd bug by any of these concepts, I will be only too delighted to consult or advise with you freely on how to approach launching them. Reach me at max.gorynski@gmail.com
